It's on and poppin' folks. Sen. Barack Obama has done everything short of literally announcing his campaign for the 2008 Presidency. Today he filed the official papers that will allow him to begin to form a Presidential campaign staff *readying my resume for sendoff* and to raise some serious paper for a full out Presidential campaign. He already came out a couple weeks ago about his past--but not too far past--cocaine use, so hopefully the media won't do him too dirty. Sources are reporting he will make his offical bid for Presidency on February 10th. A black man who exudes just as much political savvy as he does sexiness? Yesssssir.
But I do have mixed feelings. He's only been a Senator for a little over 2 years and we all know America is not ready for a black president. Even though he doesn't have much national political experience, clearly that doesn't mean anything, i.e. "W". Because I truly believe Barack's political beliefs and policy efforts and savvy are what is needed for the masses right now, I would love for him to save his run for a later date--when he will damn near be a shoe-in. With all that said...Team Barack b*tches! Let's just hope all this doesn't turn into a real life version of 24....
And on a sidenote, all this talk makes this post all the more comical.
