I'm gone all day ONE DAY and all kinds of stuff goes down. I got to go on the Hill today and attend congressional meetings/briefings all day with a lobbyist from my office. So I had zero time for updating today. Oh--the life of a lobbying intern. Anywayz...
Sh*t is straight poppin off over at ABC studios on The View set. I knew I loved this show for a reason. Well I posted yesterday about how Star announced on The View yesterday morning that she's leaving the show. She wasn't mean about it or anything, just sounded like she was truly following her heart. And The View chicks wished her all the best. NOW-Barbara Walters is putting Star on blast telling every media source within earshot--plus all of America on the show this morning--that Star did not let them know she was leaving before she announced it yeserday and she's real salty about it. She then let everybody know that since Star didn't "follow orders" and leave quietly with dignity, and since she KNEW ABC wasn't renewing her contract, Star will no longer be on the show starting NOW. Bump that whole midJuly thing Star was talking about. Babs said "Hell to the Naw!" and is not lettin that chick back on the show at all. Once again, Jawn provided me with the juice (the transcript from today's show):WALTERS: "And then there were three. This is, truthfully, a very difficult day for us, and it is a sad day for us. If you were watching the program yesterday, you would have heard Star announce that she's leaving THE VIEW and will not be on the program next fall.
"We didn't expect her to make this statement yesterday. She gave us no
warning. And we were taken by surprise. But the truth is that Star has known for months that ABC did not want to renew her contract and that she would not be asked back in the fall."
The network made this decision based on a variety of reasons which I won't go into now. But we were never going to say this. We wanted to protect star. And so we told her that she could say whatever she wanted about why she was leaving and that we would back her up.
"We worked closely with her representatives and we gave her time to look for another job. We hope she would announce it on the program and leave with dignity.
"But Star made another choice."And since her announcement yesterday, she has made further announcements that have surprised us.
"So it is becoming uncomfortable for us to pretend that everything is the same at this table."And, therefore, regrettably Star will no longer be on this program, except for some shows that have been prerecorded.
"THE VIEW helped make Star a Star and Star helped make THE VIEW the success that it is. We will never forget that. We wish her well in this new chapter of her life as we begin a new chapter on THE VIEW."
Well aint that a b*tch. I don't know about y'all, but something just doesn't sit right with me about Babs' statement. I'm not the biggest Star fan or anything, but I gotta side with her on this one. It sounds like ABC did her dirty and held out on explicitly telling her what the damn deal was. And she was trying to take her time and explore her options before she assumed something and just quit. I for damn sure wouldn't pick Rosie over Star, so they are wrong for that in itself. Sounds like they're just salty Star didn't act with a slave mentality ad do everything they TOLD her to do. Whatever, I could say more about this but of course folks are going to say the race card has no business being played here. But dammit, I'ma play it. Something aint right here folks....
In other news...
BFF Jamie and 'Ye apparently have a lil beef going on. And I did notice that J seemed a lil peturbed at SOMEBODY last night, but I assumed it was the announcers since they kept leaving his name off the "Golddigger" song. Mediatakeout is reporting that Kanye's arrogance is getting to Jamie and J is not liking that mess. I also noticed that BET forgot to censor some explitives coming out of J's mouth when they won the Collabo of the Year award. Hmm. It could be nothing, but I wouldn't be surprised if both of their big head selves bumped heads.Stay tuned for the YBF BET Awards show recap.
